3v3 Live Soccer Tour Makes Final Pre-Championship Stop at Herndon (Sage) Park

Dec 1, 2015

The Mobile Sports Authority (MSA), through a partnership with 3v3 Live Soccer and Mobile United Futbol Club, presents the 3v3 Live Gulf Regional Soccer Tournament which will take place on the new soccer fields at Herndon (Sage) Park this Saturday, December 5th. The tournament is slated to begin at 9 AM with check-in beginning at 8 AM.

Making its first appearance in Mobile, AL, 3v3 Live will offer teams their last chance to qualify for the prestigious Disney 3v3 Soccer World Championships held in Orlando, FL at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, January 15th-18th, 2016. Soccer teams throughout the region will converge on the turf fields of Herndon (Sage) Park, vying for one of the remaining spots.

Mike Tew, the President of 3v3 Live which is based in St. George, Utah, commented, “3v3 Live is very excited to be coming to Mobile in December. Playing in Mobile will offer our teams a chance to play in the winter in a warmer locale.”

Team divisions range from age 6 to adult, welcoming males and females of all skill levels. Teams will play at least a four-game schedule. Trophies will be awarded to first and second place teams at the close of competition. The top teams from each division will then qualify for the 2016 Disney 3v3 Soccer World Championship.

“Mainly due to the recent investment the City and County of Mobile have made to upgrade the soccer fields at Sage Park, the Mobile Sports Authority, working with the Mobile United Futbol Club group, was able to attract 3v3 Live to Mobile for the first time,” said Danny Corte, Executive Director of the MSA. “The younger age group generally makes up 3v3 teams and helps to attract several family members per player, thereby making for a fun experience for all involved. So we welcome those teams to Mobile this weekend.”
About 3v3 Live Soccer

Based out of Utah, 3v3 Live has existed since 1996 and is a major soccer tour in the United States with tournaments being played all over the country. Each team may only have three players on the field at a time and is commonly referred to as a “small-sided” game played on a field smaller than a regulation soccer pitch. With fewer players on the field, each player has more opportunities to touch the ball, using and improving their soccer skills. Small-sided games can develop player’s decision-making, technical attributes, tactical knowledge and physical conditioning through functional movements. For more info, visit
