Biggest Loser RunWalk Half Marathon/5K Series Returns to Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. – The Mobile Sports Authority, along with One Fit Mobile, is excited to welcome The Biggest Loser RunWalk Half-Marathon/5K series back to Mobile as the national event returns to downtown Mobile this weekend, April 18-19.  

Registration is still open online for the event and will remain open until race day. Registration costs $65 for the half-marathon and $35 for the 5K online with costs going up for day-of registrants. The One-Mile Kids Fun Run is $15 and registrants must sign up online prior to the day of the race.  

Registration includes a commemorative “The Biggest Loser” RunWalk shirt, finisher’s medal, free downloadable race photos, a chance to meet with former “Biggest Loser” contestants and much more. The half-marathon and 5K are chip-timed for participants tracking goals with awards given out to the top runners and walkers.  

A Health and Fitness Meet ‘n’ Greet is scheduled to open the weekend festivities Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. CDT in the Holiday Inn Downtown’s Bienville Ballroom. The event will serve as packet pick-up for participants and will also feature guest speakers and fitness-related vendors. It is free and open to the public.  

Race Day Sunday will be staged out of the Mobile Civic Center parking lot as festivities kick off at 6:45 a.m. CDT with a pre-race warm-up. The half-marathon will begin at 7:30 a.m. while the 5K is set to start at 8 a.m.  The kids’ race will go off at 11:30 a.m.   
 

After the race, participants, family, and friends are encouraged to hang out at the post-race festival. Former “Biggest Loser” contestant and Nashville recording artist, Dan Evans, is scheduled to perform as well as fitness demos by local experts being held throughout the morning on the main stage in the festival area.  The One Fit Mobile Health Fair will also feature many local fitness vendors who can help those interested to achieve a more active and healthy life. The course and event is set to conclude at 12:30 p.m. CDT.
 

Dan and Jackie Evans from Season 5 will return to the event along with Alabama native Gina McDonald from Season 14 and JJ O’Malley from Season 16.
