2014 USA Gymnastics State Championships Start Friday

MOBILE, Ala. – The Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center is ready to host the 2014 USA Gymnastics Alabama State Compulsory Championships presented by the Mobile Sports Authority, Dec. 5-7, in downtown Mobile. The three-day event was brought to the area by the Mobile Sports Authority, along with the Mobile Bay Convention & Visitor’s Bureau and Planet Gymnastics.  

This year’s state championships will bring in over 1,000 athletes (girls ages five and up) to Mobile along with their coaches, families, friends and other supporters. The gymnasts will compete on four apparatus – beam, bars, floor and vault.  

The championships begin Friday at 12 noon and will start again at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. A total of 17 sessions will be completed over the three-day event. Admission is $8 daily for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12, while weekend passes are $18. Children under the age of five are free.
